Abstract:
This paper underlines a number of lessons to be learned from the UK Higher Education knowledge transfer experience. The study focuses those governmental and institutional support measures for university – industry linkages, while pointing out different advancements that can be seen as best practices: the broad view of university – industry knowledge exchange patterns, a sustained interest towards meeting set targets, together with a continuous attempt to develop metrics, benchmarks and institutional strategies for knowledge transfer.
